Machine Device Integration (MDI) is a configurable, compliant, and user-friendly instrument interfacing solution that is easy to deploy. This MDI module will serve as middleware between the Hospital Management Information System (HMIS) and medical devices. It is essential to implement and integrate the instrument interfacing solution with the digital instruments and analyzers used in Hospital’s Laboratory. Here, “digital analyzer” refers to the capabilities enabled by MDI integration. The service provider will integrate all active digital analyzers, and those MDIs that have a physical status will be identified during the signed-off blueprint phase. 

  • These outputs will be automatically transmitted from the analyzers to the Laboratory/Pathology at the time of report preparation via MDI.
  • Hospital will provide the necessary hardware for host communication, while the analyzer vendor will supply the required cables and documentation for the analyzer.
